Lot #926 - Meticulous 2 year documented restoration completed in 2002. Less than 4000 miles since $16,000 Body/Pan Off restoration including fully built 1600cc engine. Mechanically excellent. Finished in VW Yellow with black interior. The black convertible top is hand sewn canvas. The white headliner is fully padded, and retains the original wooden bows. The interior was also restored to original condition with black carpets and seat covers. Chassis had new pans installed during restoration, along with steel brake lines, and was upgraded to a 12 volt electrical system. It is rust free and under coated. Retains the original glass and original Heidelberg Horn Ring. All of the VW emblems and scripts are also original. Polished 15" wheels were added at the time of restoration. Brand new vintage looking VW specific Custom Auto Sound stereo with AUX input was installed this year. Car also has a battery cut off switch for storage/security. Includes binder with photo documentation of restoration. This Beetle cabriolet also spent a short time at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in the early 1980's when it's previous owner, who was a US Navy officer, was stationed there prior to shipping it back to Florida in December 1982.
