Lot #396.1 - The Futuramic Model 98 was the first to introduce the "new" Rocket 88 engine. This example’s 302ci V8 engine is mated to a manual transmission. To show off its new Rocket V8 power plant, the factory produced a limited number of hoods with Plexiglas inserts. These units were made available to dealers and turned a few heads in Oldsmobile dealerships across the country. The Futuramic Model 98 package included front and rear floor mats, special chrome body moldings, electric clock, deluxe steering wheel, stainless-steel wheel trim rings and hydraulic windows, and seat and convertible top controls.
