Description
Lot #1433 - Unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, Ferrari introduced a new dual-purpose track car to commemorate its recent unprecedented 16th F1 Constructor’s Championship. Named “16M Scuderia Spider,” the lightened car was an open-top 430 Scuderia customer competition car, featuring the same increased-output V8, producing 503hp backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. Due to the convertible configuration, the chassis required structural reinforcement, and Maranello’s engineers offset the added weight with increased use of carbon fiber throughout the car. Produced in very limited numbers, the batch of 499 examples were generally available in black, but the 16M was also available in a tri-color livery under the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalization Program. The example offered here, in Rosso Corsa livery with tri-color stripes, was optioned with red-painted brake calipers, carbon-fiber door sills and special stitching to the black leather interior. Currently displaying only 1,825 miles on the odometer, this beautifully presented two-owner 16M is documented with the original Window Sticker and service records. From the Steve Todhunter Collection.
