Description
Lot #1550 - This El Camino Resto-Mod underwent a ground-up restoration that took several years and is mostly stock except for the drivetrain. It is powered by an early Chevy small block 383ci stroker engine with an early GM aluminum high-rise intake topped with a Carter AFB competition series carburetor backed up with a heavy-duty built TH 400 automatic transmission wtih a 308 ratio GM posi-traction unit from an early ‘60s ‘Vette. It also has block hugger headers that go into 2.5” exhaust pipe, a new aluminum radiator, updated drop spindles with power disc brakes, and a 605 power steering box. During the restoration the body was stripped down and any sign of rust was removed and replaced with steel. It was coated with an epoxy primer and block sanded, then finished in stock PPG Roman Red paint with Blue Metallic and has matching red Torque Thrust wheels. The look of the body is finished off with Impala trim that was straightened and polished. The interior is stock Impala-style for an original look and a stock looking radio with CD, MP3 and phone capabilities with big speakers behind the seat to drown out road noise.
