Description
Lot #783 - This 1928 Ford Model AA Cretors Popcorn Truck re-creation is finished in authentic colors: red and white for the body, black for the fenders, and yellow powder-coating paint for the wire wheels. The red finish hosts yellow hand-painted detailing on body and black accents on window frames. The paint is very presentable with minor imperfections in surface texture, dents and scratches. Wisconsin northern red oak shelves, window frames and flooring give a sense of yesteryear quality. The 1928 original Model A Ford 4-cylinder engine with a rare 3-speed worm drive train, clutch, gears and brakes were all rebuilt using new or OEM parts. The engine is painted Ford green, with the undercarriage painted with black epoxy and mechanical parts with black powder-coating. The interior and exterior of the body feature decorative beveled glass windows, with three foldout serving windows. Decorative blue flash glass signs are inset in front, back and sides at the top of the oak window frames. Both the entrance door to the interior and rear door to access the storage area are made of oak. The all metal decorative trim pieces are solid brass with nickel plating. The wheel lug nuts are also plated in nickel. The vending section features a new 16-ounce Gold Medal popper with exhaust fan and heat lamp with a stainless-steel hopper to hold large amounts of popcorn. There is even a fully functional peanut roaster with propane burner and motor. A hard-piped steam whistle sounds when pressurized air is applied. It has an electrified replica Cretors steam engine and "Roasty-Toasty" clown peanut tumbler mounted in the front and back windows. Red and white awnings extend from both sides with light fixtures for illumination. The interior also has two authentic green shade fixtures with dual-bulb sockets for plenty of light at night. The tires are in great condition. The truck drives and starts as well as any truck from its era.
