Description
Lot #32 - The "Diva Speedster" is an original design - hot rod in the front, sports car in the back, with some Sprint car thrown in for good measure. It does not rely on a donor chassis. The kit comes with a proprietary steel-tube space frame. The frame is fully triangulated with double-shear mounts for all suspension pieces. The design incorporates full anti-dive and anti-squat geometry. The kit is designed for the versatile small-block Chevy. This example has a 215 all-aluminum Buick V8, bored and stroked to 289ci, with the full American hot-rod treatment. It has GM HEI ignition, Melling high-volume oil pump and a Crower cam. The carburetor is a Holley 4150 on an Edelbrock manifold. It has 10.4:1 compression and will run all day on pump gas. The engine bay features auxiliary battery terminals and classic Offenhauser valve covers. Custom headers dump into an out-the-back exhaust, but side pipes are possible. The engine delivers its massive power to the rear wheels via a Borg-Warner T5 5-speed stick shift and a Ford 8.8” rear end. Disc brakes and Aldan coilovers are on all four corners. The cockpit features a Vintage Air heater and defroster and SPW wiper system. Each leather-covered bucket seat has a storage pocket, and the driver's seat is adjustable. The dashboard has an engine-turned instrument panel with classic Stewart Warner gauges. It also has a locking trunk and glove box, and includes full tonneau cover with frame for convertible top.
