Description
Lot #622.1 - The punchy appeal of the small-block V8-engine-equipped A-body is well-known to the Mopar faithful. This 1972 Plymouth Duster underwent a frame-off restoration for a return to lightweight rear-wheel-drive glory. At the core of the Duster is the 340ci V8 engine. Topped with a 4-barrel carburetor and backed by a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, the engine was rated for 240 plenty-of-fun horsepower in the 3,000-pound car. Power steering and brakes make for assured road handling. The restoration covered everything from the dual hood scoops and the 340 badging to the detailed torsion bar suspension. The bucket-seat interior features a center console with wood-grain shifter and an Alpine CD player stereo to complement the dual-exhaust V8 sound. A Vintage Air climate control system keeps the cabin comfortable. The Duster rides on optional Rallye wheels shod with modern BFGoodrich radial T/A tires. Previously in a private collection. Top-notch restoration.
