Description
Lot #330.1 - This beautiful and rare 1951 F3 Ford stake-side pickup truck has been completely restored. Not only are they difficult to locate because so many were used up and junked, but they are rarely treated to a full frame-off restoration. This truck sports an original 239ci Flathead V8 engine and 4-on-the-floor manual transmission. It's finished in period-correct Sandpiper Cream paint with matching interior cream and white door panels and dash with Saddle brown seats. This all-steel truck has a laser-straight cab and body; every part of this truck is either new or has been reconditioned. Highlights of the restoration include the new frame, floor pans, bumpers, glass, interior, wiring harnesses, dash gauges, cargo bed, suspension and rebuilt engine. The restoration was to the highest degree with no expenses spared. 1951 was the first-generation F-Series for Ford trucks. An all-new grille design with a large horizontal bar spread across the front of the truck supported by three bullet-shaped teeth was the big style change in that year.
