Lot #36 - Virtually everything was standard equipment on the top-of-the-line SL600, including an upgraded entertainment system with the trunk-mounted CD changer. Both seats are heated ad powered and use the elegantly simple door-mounted seat controls. Overhead there's both a power black canvas convertible top and a removable hardtop with stand, which seals the coupe up tightly as any luxury sedan. The plugs were changed at 50,000 miles and the oil changed at 57,000 miles. The car has 57,283 miles (the title reads mileage exempt). The silky 6.0-liter V12 offers dual overhead cams and 48 valves putting out 389hp. This SL600 uses a 5-speed automatic transmission, and with this much torque, extra gears are just superfluous. The Sport model received gorgeous AMG alloy wheels wearing a set of staggered Michelin tires. The wheels were completely refinished in 2014 and are great. The tires are basically brand-new. The Mineral Green was a very rare, special-order and unique color combination for 2000 models. This car has been entered in two local shows and come away with two First Place awards. It's a wonderful ride. This car cost $135,000 when new.
