Description
Lot #628 - The Edward G. Budd manufacturing company supplied Ford with the 82-A closed cab. It was used from the start of production in December 1927 through June 1930. A copy of the Certificate of Title from the state of Kansas (notary dated September 26, 1949) shows the empty gross weight of 3,600 pounds and engine number 27,303. This truck was purchased in pieces by the seller's father from a friend of his in McPherson, KS. The seller received the truck in order to complete the early restoration start by his father. The engine was rebuilt by an experienced Model A engine builder in Kansas and had all of the fender and cabin work done in original lead repairs. The lights and other original parts were nickel-plated. The color of the vehicle is Rock Moss Green with black trim. After receiving the truck from his father, the seller had the truck restored at the Nevada Department of Correction facility outside of Las Vegas, NV, in 2001. All of the paintwork, wood bed, interior upholstery and interior wood cabin work were all done by the prisoners at the correctional facility. This is the same facility Carroll Shelby used outside their Las Vegas Nevada facility. The truck sat in a covered building until 2013. Manual transmission.
