Lot #1103 - This genuine 21-Window Samba Bus is a rare walk-through. It has just undergone a meticulous two-year concours-quality restoration using only the highest quality parts and materials. This is a deluxe bus from the factory that comes with polished aluminum side molding and very rare dash clock. It features seating for nine passengers, side door entry, eight skylights, sliding ragtop, six pop-out windows and a safari pop-out windshield. Every piece of rubber trim in the bus is new. All lights, lenses and mirrors are new or restored to new condition. This great piece of history features very desirable black and white two-tone paint buffed to a mirror finish and original correct luggage rack. Throughout restoration, precise attention to detail was given to this bus to keep is as authentic as possible. Every part of the interior has either been replaced or restored to like-new condition. The gray two-tone interior has been professionally installed, as was the authentic square-weave carpet, headliner and ragtop. All exterior and interior stainless and chrome have been replaced or restored to show-quality. The undercarriage has been restored and detailed to show condition, including new belly pans and heater tubes, rebuilt brakes and fresh undercoating. The new wheels and tires capped with German-made VW hubcaps finish the ride. This bus is powered by a new 2,0227cc engine with dual 40mm carburetors, built by SCAT Enterprises. With 130hp, a 4-speed manual transmission and tuned suspension, this bus is wonderful to drive.
