Description
Lot #1044.1 - This is certified by Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance as a factory-original 1969 Z28 Camaro. This car retains its born-with original, matching-numbers 302/290hp DZ-code engine and BV-code 4.10 gear, posi-traction 12-bolt differential. The transmission is a date-code-correct M20 4-speed manual. The Cowl Tag and VIN have been certified as factory original. This car has X77-style trim, unique to the Z28 model. Options include vinyl top, console, posi-traction rear axle, power disc brakes, 4-speed manual transmission, special instrumentation gauges, AM radio and special interior décor group. Finished in the factory original colors of LeMans Blue with a black interior, black stripes and a black vinyl top, this Z28 has undergone a breathtaking frame-off restoration where the car was stripped to bare metal revealing all of its factory-original sheet metal. No panels were replaced during the restoration whatsoever. The paint and body are in great condition, with laser-straight panels and excellent fit and finish. The paint and trim codes match those with which the car was originally produced. The extensively detailed engine compartment includes the original, matching-numbers smog system (air injector reactor), brake booster, cylinder heads, water pump, timing chain cover, valve covers, pulleys, intake manifold, carburetor, alternator, fan, voltage regulator and horn relay. This no-expense-spared restoration is thoroughly documented with two binders of receipts, invoices and photos accompanying the car. The exhaust system is the very best on the market, a Gardner reproduction system. This four-owner Z28 Camaro was originally ordered to Jerry Govan Chevrolet in Baltimore, MD, with a production date of March 3, 1969, as validated by the NCRS Shipper Data Report. All aspects of the car have been detailed bringing the condition to top show contention at either the Camaro Nationals or Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals.
