Description
Lot #975 - This small block Chevrolet V8 has been produced in a multitude of high-performance variants but many feel the L79 327/350hp version first introduced in 1965 was one of the best. This Malibu convertible was an enthusiasts special order from Sutliff Chevrolet of Harrisburg, PA, and one of the very few Chevelle convertibles equipped with that legendary 327/350hp backed-up by a Muncie 4-speed and a posi-traction rear gear. An extremely rare combination, this L79 drop-top Chevelle luckily stayed together with its original matching-number drivetrain and great paperwork documentation to verify its authenticity. Built in the beautiful original color combination of Cypress Green with Fawn Beige interior, this car has undergone a show-quality body-off restoration to factory-original appearance. The previous owner assembled what would today be a nearly impossible stash of new old-stock parts to restore this car to the highest level. Items like the four NOS 1965-only mag-wheel hubcaps and a NOS GM exhaust system with resonators would be likely never found again. As imagined, cost was of no concern in this endeavor. Totally sorted, expect this car to run, drive and perform as good as it looks.
