Lot #256 - As related by the former owner, this stake bed truck was purchased by the Virginia & Truckee Railroad in 1936. The truck was found in Silver City, NV in 1974 and driven 1,500 miles home. Thereafter it was restored. The original Ford-type, 21-stud 221ci V8 engine was professionally rebuilt in 1975 with less than 500 miles on it since rebuilt. It also has an original factory 4-speed manual transmission. The vehicle has been lovingly cared for in a heated facility since it was purchased in 1974. The truck has 45,460 original miles (mileage not indicated on the title). Aftermarket deluxe accessories include fog lights, dual horns, grille guard, dual outside mirrors and greyhound radiator cap. The truck has a Stewart-Warner gas-fired heater (not connected) and deluxe hubcaps on all wheels, chrome trim rings on front wheels. A master disconnect switch has been installed.
