Lot #1317 - This E-Type features covered headlamps, triple carburetion, small-mouth oval grille opening, synchromesh transmission with better rear-axle ratio and retains the signal and taillights above the bumpers. Finished in Carmen Red over black leather seats accented by red piping, it has a matching black convertible top and boot cover. Power comes from a date-code-correct 1967 4.2-liter straight-6 engine fitted with proper triple SU carburetors mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Features include 72-spoke chrome wire wheels wrapped in Michelin radial red line tires, telescoping steering column, updated AM/FM/cassette audio system with Kenwood speakers, Smiths instrumentation, wood steering wheel and outside mirror. The car comes from California, where it was completely restored in nut-and-bolt fashion in 2008. The body and paintwork were professionally executed. A few enhancements have been made as well, including a stainless-steel exhaust header and exhaust system, updated electric cooling fans, Pertronix electronic ignition, stainless-steel brake calipers and braided lines.
