Description
Lot #246 - This historical 1943 Chevrolet ½-ton truck is a very rare and recent wheat-farm-find in Kansas. The truck was kept on the farm by the same family until recently when it was sold to be restored. During World War II these trucks were only manufactured to support the war effort. It was provided to a wheat farmer who was part of what was then called the Land Army, which was part of the U.S. Crop Corps. All this was to support and feed our troops and allies during the war. Proof that it was manufactured during the war is on the pillars at the windshield showing it was welded instead of leaded in. (Lead went to the war effort). The truck was titled after the war in 1946. It's had a meticulous restoration with an upgraded 235ci engine and complete new 12-volt system and wiring. It also has a new clutch for the 3-speed manual transmission, brakes, paint and leather interior.
