Description
Lot #353 - This is the rarer two-door sport coupe model with the distinctive Pontiac tunnelback and over/under headlights. The car has had a recent comprehensive body and mechanical restoration with 5,000 miles on the engine and transmission rebuild. The interior and body restoration work was done by a previous owner. The new paint is the near-original Champagne color. The black interior upholstery and carpeting are the original color and in good condition with the original dashboard and gauges. The strong-running 326ci motor was rebuilt and balanced in 2015 with all-new components and substantial aftermarket upgrades including Edelbrock intake, Holley carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, Crane camshaft and lifters, valve train refurbishment and strengthening and cast GTO exhaust manifolds. The complete engine compartment refurbishment included a Vintage Air kit, wiring, 4-core radiator, power steering pump/hoses, alternator, regulator, and numerous other small parts. The 2-speed automatic Super Turbine 300 transmission has been rebuilt. Drivability improvements include suspension, tire and wheel upgrades including period-correct wheels from Wheel Vintiques, Toyo radial tires, front disc brakes, front and rear springs, rear air supports, polygraphite bushings, Bilstein gas shocks, power brake master cylinder/booster and steering box/linkages. Numerous body and electrical upgrades have been made as well. This is an elegant and drivable mid-'60s classic. The Pontiac Historical Society Build Sheet, original owner's manual, spare parts and tires, manufacturer's service, maintenance and repair, assembly manuals, wiring diagram, miscellaneous literature and receipts are included.
