Description
Lot #1015 - This rare 1939 rumble-seat cabriolet has undergone a frame-off restoration. It is powered by a 24-stud Flathead V8 with Ford carburetor, floor-shift 3-speed manual transmission and 6-volt electric system. The interior features a dash clock, banjo steering wheel, wood-grain dash and AM radio. Exterior features include front and rear bumper guards, chrome exhaust tip, dual outside mirrors, blue-painted stock steel wheels with spare, trim rings and Spyder hubcaps wrapped in Ford 6x16" wide whitewall tires. Beautifully refinished in Jefferson Blue, it has a Stayfast convertible top with boot, genuine tan leather seat and door panels. This was the first year for hydraulic brakes and the last year for the rumble seat. Only driven test miles, the car is as nice underneath as it is on top. It has been in a climate-controlled environment since restoration. It has all NOS Ford parts. The paint, body, fit and finish is as good as it gets. The interior, stainless, chrome and engine compartment are concours-quality. From the Charlie Thomas Collection.
