Lot #1047 - This Dart HEMI re-creation is finished in superior stunning gloss black over period-correct gold-hue finish. It is powered by a massive 431ci HEMI V8 that features a '68 X-block HEMI with stock HEMI crank/rods with custom 12.5:1 compression pistons, mildly ported Mopar aluminum heads and 750 Dominator carbs with progressive linkage. All this HEMI power is sent to the pavement-pounding 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission, turbo-action manual valve body with 509J torque converter, Dana 60 rear end with Stud Gurtle LPW cover, 4.10 posi-traction and Strange axles. Starting is provided by the MSD ignition/blaster coil and kept in correct running temperature via a custom aluminum radiator. The intoxicating horsepower sound is echoed out through the custom Hooker headers with 4" exhaust and Borla stainless mufflers. It's mini-tubbed with super stock springs and Carrera shocks. It stops as fast as it takes off via its front disc brakes and 10" rear drums, all connected with stainless-steel brake lines. Immediate off-the-line acceleration is accomplished with the Biodo line lock. Other features include the correct custom powder-coated wheels with polished stainless-steel dog-dish hubcaps. Safety is at the top of the list with its 8-point chromoly roll cage, Camlock 5-point harness seatbelts, Superstock seats with correct aluminum seat brackets and LeCarra steering wheel. Top it all off with the top-of-the-line Auto Meter tachometer with shift light, and Optima red-top battery. Fully street legal.
