Description
Lot #459 - The Series 90 Custom Cruiser touring sedan was top of the line for Oldsmobile in 1940. Although it carried a hefty price tag, it was the second-best selling Oldsmobile for 1940, with 33,350 built. 1940 also saw Oldsmobile build its one-millionth vehicle and introduce the revolutionary Hydramatic drive, the first fully automatic transmission that set the industry standard for all future automatic transmissions. Hydramatic drive, with modifications, had continued usage through 1964 in various GM models. From the Charlie Thomas Collection.
