Description
Lot #353.1 - Although starting life as a convertible, this highly modified Ford now sports the roof from a 1954 Mercury. Like a mad scientist, the creator continued modifying practically every ounce of sheet metal. The top is chopped 4" and the quarters were lengthened 5-1/2". Taillights from a 1960 Chrysler were fitted, as were custom-built skirts. Like any true custom, it has been nosed, decked, shaved and frenched. It's powered by a 1958 Chrysler 392/360hp HEMI engine, rare dual fours with a batwing air cleaner and 1958 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission with push-button gear select. It's also equipped with a Ford 9" rear end, rack & pinion power steering, four early Rambler bucket seats that recline with old-school diamond-tuck upholstery. It has power trunk release and 1956 Oldsmobile Fiesta wheel covers. This is a beautiful body with excellent fit that's finished in GM's Synergy Green Metallic.
