Lot #212 - An extremely high-quality restoration was performed on this adorable Bugeye by a group of young women as an 18-month high-school shop project. This car has been the subject of magazine and newspaper articles in both the U.S. and the U.K. and has also been featured in Sports Car Market magazine. It's been restored to all-original specifications including the beautiful Cherry Red paint with black interior and rare dealer-optional luggage rack. The 43hp 984cc OHV inline 4-cylinder motor has been professionally rebuilt using all-NOS parts. When possible, during the build, the team used parts that were property date-coded. This fun little roadster comes with a driver's handbook and a shop manual. The black folding soft-top is new and the sliding side windows have been restored. The gearbox is a 4-speed manual and it sports an independent front suspension with coil springs. The rear suspension is made up of a live axle with quarter-elliptic leaf springs. The brakes are 4-wheel drums.
