Description
Lot #701 - This Challenger convertible was built by Steve Strope of Purevision and featured in Popular Hot Rodding magazine. The engine is a 572ci Ray Barton-built HEMI exceeding 650hp with a custom all-aluminum Hilborn fuel-injection setup with individual stacks. It has a Tremec 5-speed transmission and a Dana 60 rear end. The suspension is XV Motorsports Level II to include all 4-disc brakes. The three-piece Kinesis alloy wheels were custom modified by Steve Strope to include spinners. The custom-built dash, instrument cluster and interior have a road-race 1960s feel and include a diamond-stitch pattern. The steering wheel is from an early 1970s Ferrari. The extreme attention to detail is seen in the engine compartment and underside of the car. Everything is custom with a lot of detail. The build cost exceeded $300,000 over many years. This car has less than 1,000 miles since completion.
