Lot #739 - The 428/335hp Cobra Jet V8 returned for duty in the 1969 GT500, using a cast-iron intake manifold and Ram Air-fed 735 cfm Holley 4-barrel carburetor. One of 1,534 produced in 1969, this nicely restored Shelby GT500 Sportsroof is classically finished in Wimbledon White with blue stripes and black Deluxe Decor interior. Shipped new to Gotham Ford, Inc., in New York City, it was well-equipped with SelectAire air conditioning and C6 automatic transmission, 3.00 conventional rear end, power steering and power brakes with front discs. Interior features include Sport Deck rear seat, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, deluxe seatbelts with warning light, Black Clarion knit vinyl bucket seats and center console with Stewart Warner auxiliary gauges. The car presents with excellent paint on straight sheet metal, with good overall fit and finish, brightwork and detailing. Listed in the Shelby Registry, this GT500 comes with copies of the original invoice, Shelby American order sheet and 10-day production report, Deluxe Marti Report and an album of the restoration.
