Description
Lot #364 - This beautiful Cobra re-creation has a complete high-performance suspension, including adjustable coilover shocks, tubular front and rear control arms, Ford 8.8 independent rear suspension and Vintage adjustable sway bars front and rear. The engine is a brand-new (less than 50 miles) race-prepared 393ci Ford Windsor engine that has a full custom tune by Oakes Racing, generating 450hp yet very street friendly. To handle that kind of power, a new Levy Racing super alloy T-5 transmission was installed at the same time. Power is transmitted to the rugged 8.8 differential by a custom Broward powertrain driveshaft with safety loop. Exhaust flows through ceramic-coated headers that lead into the polished stainless-steel side pipes. Not only will this car handle and has awesome power, it will also stop. New Ford Cobra disc brakes on all four corners (front are dual piston), brake lines are stainless steel, all controlled by dual aluminum master cylinders by CNC. Brake bias (front to rear) is easily modified by a cockpit adjustable brake controller. Bodywork and paint has been professionally done by NC painter, one of the premier Cobra specialists on the East Coast. Body color is a deep black color with grey, ghost racing stripes. The cockpit has rolled edges, with a custom leather-covered dash and console, and Vintage Cobra instruments by Auto Meter with the authentic reverse rotation speedometer. A quick-detachable steering wheel is installed (great security feature), and the owner can switch between a leather-covered or traditional wood steering wheel. There is an emergency battery cut-off switch installed between two comfortable heated seats. Both the driver and passenger are protected by 5-point Simpson racing harnesses, twin roll bars and modern bearclaw door latches. Team III wheels finish off this beautiful car. No expense was spared in creating this modern version of the classic Cobra.
