Description
Lot #60 - This Stryker-built Vintage Sprint car has period-correct components. It features Halibrand wheels, brakes, brake rotors, hubs, pressure plates, CAE rear end, in-and-out transmission box, knock-off wheels, NOS Norden steering, International spindles, Hilborn pump and belt drive, Aircraft fuel filter and fuel shut-off, Vertex magneto and Bell Auto 17" steering wheel. This is a very nice example of a classic 1960s Sprint car. In addition to the above-listed components, the car has been meticulously put together. Brake calipers were disassembled, honed and rebuilt. New brake pads, early Ford master cylinder, new kingpins and bushings, all new heim joints, front wheel bearings repacked with new seals, rare Norden steering is a fresh NOS unit and new Stewart Warner gauges. The rear end, compact in-out box and axle are as they came off the track last; all feel tight. Spicer U-joint, engine is a late SBC 350ci with moderate porting and a street cam, aluminum water pump and belt drive, fitted with a, early '60s Hilborn fuel injection, new nozzles, chrome stacks, Cal Custom valve covers and breathers, fresh Vertex Magneto, 8-quart wet-sump oval track pan with baffles doors and scraper. The fuel cell is a '70s FBI. It has rare Halibrand 16" smooth front wheels with Ken's Equipment in the rear. The tires are original and for static display only. The interior features new upholstery. All body aluminum body panels, dash and firewall are all new, nose hood and tail are fiberglass, paint is base coat/clear coat Pearl White, chassis is powder-coated, leaf spring suspension in the front, cross torsion in the rear. Pro shocks on the front, Carrera shocks on rear.
