Description
Lot #151.1 - This 1948 Plymouth is a traditional old-school hot rod fully restored and updated for better road manners. Finished in bright red exterior with light gray leather interior with red piping. This Plymouth is an older restoration that still turns heads today. Custom aluminum '49 style bumpers, sleep postless split windscreen, chrome moon wheels with wide whitewall tires give this street rod a too-cool attitude. The original 217ci 6-cylinder was rebuilt and dual Carter carburetors and Offenhauser manifold fitted for performance. An electric cooling fan and 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst floor shifter was also incorporated to assist with freeway driving. Front wheel disc brakes were added to improve safety and stopping performance, while the dual glass pack exhaust enhances the coupe's very distinct grown that only a flat head motor can produce. This hot rod was often driven long distances to car shows all up and down the west coast. The car recently came out of long term storage and had the fuel system renewed, brakes services, oil changed and a new battery fitted.
