Description
Lot #1275 - This Super Duty is one of 252 produced and is fully documented by PHS. Its factory options include automatic, air conditioning, console, power steering, power brakes, power windows, AM/FM stereo radio and tilt wheel. It is finished in its original, one-year-only and highly desirable color of Brewster Green (Code 48) paint and ordered new without the "Screaming Chicken" hood decal. The former owner had the car for 38 years, yet placed it in storage from 1980 to 2014, after which it was treated to a professional restoration. It is completely matching-numbers with its original, factory-installed engine, transmission, rear, carburetor, exhaust manifolds, distributor and all other unique (and irreplaceable) Super Duty parts. The original engine was rebuilt to factory specs, as was the transmission. The body is exceptionally sound with its original quarter-panels and floors - no rust repair ever. The Honeycomb wheels are exceptional with their factory rubberized finish and fitted with Goodyear Steelguard RWL radial tires. The car has been expertly sorted and fine-tuned since restoration, and runs and drives as new. The Brewster Green paint was done in correct single-stage paint so it has no variation of the proper Brewster Green hue due to clear-coating. Note the flatness of the panels and the panel fit. Also note the decals are the factory-correct ones with the clear overlay. While there is no production breakdown for how many Super Duty Trans Ams were delivered with specific options and colors, the combination of factory air conditioning, Brewster Green, no hood bird and other unique options make this T/A exceedingly rare and certainly set it apart. Add to that 38 years in single ownership and a fresh, professional restoration, and you have an exceptional example of the legendary 1973 Super Duty Trans-Am.
