Lot #1276 - This bus has been restored by the best-of-the-best using only the highest-quality parts and materials during its restoration. The restoration of this bus was performed over a two-year period and was completed in 2015. Nothing was overlooked on this build. Configured with nine seats, a full middle seat and right-side cargo doors. As a U.S.-spec model, it has six pop-out windows, American bumpers and safety belt mountings. Restored with meticulous attention to detail inside and out. The bus was a very dry bus found in the Southwest with no rust. The body was completely stripped down and massaged to better-than-new, then finished in the highest-quality German paint available. Every inch of this bus has been restored to concours quality; all windows on the bus have been replaced with new Safari-style glass, including front windshields and the ultra-rare Safari back glass. The bus is powered by a completely rebuilt 1,600cc factory German motor and a 4-speed Freeway Flyer transmission that allows the bus to drive wonderful on both city streets and highways. Every part of the interior has either been replaced or restored to like-new condition. The two-tone interior has been professionally installed, as was the floor, which was done in authentic German square-weave carpet. During the mechanical and cosmetic restorations, precise attention to detail was given to this bus to keep it as authentic as possible.
