Description
Lot #7001 - A concours-level restoration on a 1967 Pontiac GTO hardtop, a very rare automobile. This car's original build configuration, well-documented by Pontiac Historical Services, confirms this car to be one of the most highly optioned GTOs ever seen. It is still very much a high-performance muscle car - a very unique combination of sport and luxury. Backing up the GTO-specific 400ci V8 is a Hurst dual-gate shifted automatic, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, power brakes, steering and windows, tilt wheel, stereo radio with tape player and a long list of other additional cost options. Some of those were very seldom seen. It has undergone a total rotisserie restoration to show-winning standards and was completed in 2006, resulting in First Place awards at the 2010 Pontiac Nationals and Best in Show at the 2012 Pontiac International Celebration. The rare and stunning color combination only adds to the desirability of this special car.
