Description
Lot #1631 - Documented by a copy of the original Cadillac Motors Division Build Sheet provided by Cadillac Historical Services, this car was delivered new to Plainfield, NJ, in April 1926. Some time ago, a fastidious engineer commenced its restoration by dismantling the car and creating accurate patterns from extremely precise measurements of the fit and finish of each body panel. Following his passing, the cars subsequent owner continued the project from where it had been left off, seeing it through to completion. While many of the smaller components had already been refinished, a significant number of them were nonetheless refurbished by the owner for a second time, and he also performed all of the body and paint work. Numerous historical references were utilized to make sure that the job was done to factory-correct specifications. Significantly, the relevant assembly numbers on the finished vehicle correspond to those shown on the original Cadillac-issued Build Sheet. Completed in early 2009, the Cadillac is truly handsome in Pale Green with Olive Green lower body and trim, perfectly complemented by Deep Green carpeting, tan leather upholstery, and a tan cloth top with matching side curtains and top boot. Wind wings, a highly detailed engine and engine bay, and a Fisher fender plaque are other excellent features. When the Phaeton was shown at the Spring 2009 Grand Classic in Florham Park, NJ, the Cadillac earned its CCCA Senior Badge (#2721S), and it appeared in the Summer 2009 edition of The Classic Car. Since the restoration was completed, the Cadillac has enjoyed proper care and maintenance.
