Lot #1148 - This car has undergone an extensive restoration from top to bottom. The concept behind this build was to keep the original classic lines and timeless looks of the car inside and out, yet update the drivetrain with more modern and dependable components to create a drive-anywhere, worry-free convertible. The original front suspension was removed and replaced with a new Heidts independent front suspension that also consists of power rack & pinion steering and power disc brakes. The original drivetrain was also updated with a freshly built 455 Oldsmobile V8 backed by a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The rear axle is a Currie 9" Ford with disc brakes and a 3.25 gear ratio. The body on the car is arrow-straight with beautiful chrome and stainless, along with all new glass and weatherstripping. The new interior has been completely finished in two-tone beige leather that looks amazing. The dash has been restored with all new chrome hardware and stainless, and the air conditioning vents have been custom-fitted in the dash for a clean look. The instrument cluster has also been replaced with a Dakota Digital unit and new Painless wiring harness installed throughout the car. Other features include tilt wheel, power windows, power seat, air conditioning, custom stereo and electric wipers. The new black Haartz cloth top is also power and is fitted with a custom parade boot. A brand-new set of wide white radials have been installed on a new set of chrome wire wheels.
