Lot #538 - This 1967 Chevelle SS 396 re-creation is truly an eye-popping classic car. The recent frame-off restoration is well documented with many photos and receipts of the long process. The original Malibu convertible started its life with a small block 283ci. It was replaced by a correct year date code block 396 Chevy that has been bored .030 over and completely rebuilt. The heads and the intake are both also high performance original GM correct for the year but not original to the block. The healthy motor paired with a custom 2" exhaust gives the car a classic muscle car sound. The rebuilt suspension along with the upgraded power front disc brakes gives this classic a smooth, pleasant ride. The interior is done in original-style black trim featuring all new seat covers, door panels and carpet. A new dash pad and many new trim pieces were also added. The smooth operating power top is covered in new white vinyl. This Chevelle SS re-creation is a very well built recently completed car. Its period correct look makes this hot rod a show-stopping classic. It is a very reliable, great performing car that is a true pleasure to cruise down the road.
