Description
Lot #478 - Beautifully restored, finished in 2000, 1948 Lincoln Continental convertible in Seagull Gray with black Haartz cloth convertible top and Oxblood Red leather interior. It is one of the only 452 built in 1948. Recognized as a Full Classic by the Classic Car Club of America. This rare beauty was built for export by Lincoln, but was never exported. It was built as a heater delete, extra frame tie downs for overseas shipping and a speedometer that registers in kilometers. The original V12 Flathead 325/130hp has been professionally rebuilt and runs with excellent performance. The original 3-speed transmission with overdrive shifts smoothly. The interior was restored to Continental Club of America status. The oxblood leather interior with matching wool carpet is in great condition. The gauges, including the clock and the rare kilometer speedometer, have been rebuilt. The AM radio has been professionally modified to look stock on the outside, but has been converted to AM/FM. The power windows, power antennae and power top work great. It comes with Build Sheet, judging forms, catalogs and owner's manual.
