Description
Lot #1072 - This 1969 Shelby GT 350 DE Mexico, VIN AF07JB29511, is one of the rarest Shelby's in existence today. In 1969, 306 cars were produced. This one has documentation that it was personally owned by none other than the Father of the Mexican Shelby, Eduardo Velazquez Contreras. It has had a second paint job and no signs of collision. There is a little rust showing on both rear lower quarter-panel skirts. It has all-original sheet metal and fiberglass. This Shelby was born with a Mexican 302, which it still retains. The block also has the VIN and assembly date stamp. The 4-speed Toploader has the VIN as well. It is also equipped with power drum brakes, AM/FM cassette stereo and power-assist steering. The drivetrain, brakes and steering have all been rebuilt at least five or more years ago. It does have aftermarket headers, intake manifold and carburetor. In more recent years, the gas tank, carburetor, fuel pump, oil change, tune, starter and more have been done. The motor starts right up, no noises, smoke or engine leaks. There is, however, a small drip from the power steering assist sleeve. The clutch engages smooth through all forward and reverse gears. This is a great piece of Mexican/American history. 84,369 original miles, mileage not indicated on title.
