Description
Lot #1363 - From Australian custom car builder Robert Zahabi comes this head-turning custom Nova, which traveled from the Gold Coast and ended up as one of the Top 25 finalists in the Barrett-Jackson Cup competition held in Reno, NV, in August 2015. This all-black blockbuster has a 572ci big block Chevy engine with two symmetrical billet F2 ProChargers that produce 1,500rwhp and 1,300 ft/lbs of torque. The distinctive Nova is resplendent in House of Kolor Jet Black on top, with 5% House of Kolor Orion Silver blended in for the lower color. The black-on-black theme meant every single piece of the vehicle had to be recoated or painted; all of it was sanded, etch-primed, primed and then painted. Custom-made intercoolers and radiator keep the blown 572ci engine cool, while Speedtech dropped front spindles, RideTech front A-arms and airbags, and Brembo brakes all work together to create the well-engineered one-off front end. Automatic transmission. The fully detailed and custom undercarriage - without a fuel or brake line in sight - has 22x10 rear rims, 20x8.5 fronts, 2" extended rockers and rear quarter custom-made front and rear bumpers. All the exterior factory molds were removed, replicated in steel and blended into the panel work. The bumper bars were shortened and tucked back into the body. Sills were extended 3", while door handles, locks and side marker lights were shaved. This, along with a myriad of other subtle mods - plus getting the panel gaps perfect and the edges and lines super sharp - was all completed in-house. Much of the burgundy leather interior was built from nothing. With the floor so dramatically altered - it was raised to clear the 4" exhaust - the rear seat was also made from scratch. The entire project took two years to come together, which the builder says was only possible with extensive planning.
