Description
Lot #1054.1 - Out of the 3,640 Corvettes built in 1954, this is one of only 300 cars painted Pennant Blue with a Shoreline Beige interior. It has accumulated several awards during its lifetime, including Bloomington Gold Survivor recognition, as well as NCRS Benchmark and Duntov awards. It has retained all the original interior and exterior parts and has been on display in the MY Garage Museum since 1995. This 1954 Corvette has an automatic transmission and 3,073 original miles on the odometer. This car has set the standards by which all other early Corvettes are judged and was used as a guide for updating the NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide for 1953-1955 Corvettes in 2012. Bonding strips showing through the painted surface - and not just any paint, but Nitro Cellulous Lacquer, which was notorious for quick degeneration and color fade. Testament to the early hand-worked and finished Corvette bodies, this has its original paint, upholstery, hoses, engine, wires; everything except for the spark plugs.
