Lot #1303 - This rare Galaxie 500 XL R Code 427/425hp convertible had a total body-off restoration to factory original specs. Documented by Ford Marketing, only 411 427 Ford convertibles were built. The car looks as it was delivered to the dealer in 1963 and matches all the body/trim tag codes. Body 76B Galaxie 500XL convertible, color X Heritage Burgundy, trim 81 A 63-1/2 only parchment. 3.50 axle with 4-speed manual transmission. Have the title from second owner Marvin Fischer in 1968. Car was drag raced at Edmone Dragstrip in Edmore, MI. Original owner's manual and Ford letter. The car was restored by noted 427 Galaxie restorer Dave Walters. The car has all factory-original parts except battery and tires. Power top, radio with rear speaker. Even has correct Rotunda tachometer. CD full of restoration pictures.
