Lot #1408 - This major award-winning custom named "Sophia" made its debut at the 2013 Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, CA, winning top honors. The car is owned and designed by 10-time Hall of Famer John D'Agostino, with custom body and paint by Oz Kustom. This original rust-free California car was stored for 50 years before being purchased in 2010. It underwent a frame-off restoration, with coach-built custom bodywork that includes a 4" chopped top made into a hardtop, peaked chrome side window channels, widened and molded fenders, peaked hood and custom fabricated molded running boards. The seamless body was completely molded, nosed and decked. Modified and molded headlights, custom fabricated rear gravel pan, sectioned bumpers with custom-made Lucite taillights incorporated in the bumper guards. Automatic transmission. Chevelle front clip/disc brakes. House of Kolor Ice Mint Pearl paint. Custom tuck and roll interior features a period-perfect Pearl White accented in Emerald Pearl with matching carpeting. This custom rides on 4-1/8" BFGoodrich whitewalls supplied by Coker Tires and 1953 Cadillac hubcaps. All chrome plating by Sherm's Custom Plating in Sacramento, CA. Rebuilt 500ci Cadillac engine with rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission. Air Ride suspension.
