Description
Lot #1326 - This Oldsmobile originally came equipped with what was known as the Rocket V8 engine. It had overhead valves, 303ci, a 7.25:1 compression ratio, 2-barrel carburetor and produced 135hp at 3,600 rpm and 263 ft/lbs of torque at 1,800 rpm. Pretty powerful for its time. It has since been highly modified. The stock chassis has been modified and updated by Dick's Rod Shop in Napa, CA. The front suspension is a Mustang II with 2" drop spindles and power rack & pinion steering. The rear suspension is a ladder bar with four coilover shocks. It has power disc brakes on all four corners with Wilwood 12" rear and Chevy 11" front. The current engine is a GM 502 V8 built by Hoffman Enterprises in Richmond, CA. This engine is 9.6:1 compression with 532hp at 5,200 rpm and 597 ft/lbs of torque at 4,200 rpm, all being run by a Hilborn Electronic Fuel Injection system. The transmission is a 4L80E electronic automatic that sends the power back to an Alston 9" rear end with Auburn Gear limited slip 3.00:1 gears. The body and metal work was manhandled by Cotati Speed Shop in Santa Rosa, CA, and Cotati applied the black finish paint. The beautiful black and red tuck and roll interior was fabricated by Howdy's in Freemont, CA. Other amenities incorporated are air conditioning, tilt steering, cruise control and a 6-speaker stereo system. No expense was spared to produce this eye-catching, show-stopping, stock-looking beauty.
