Description
Lot #1147 - The DeSoto Airflow was built by Chrysler for sale through its Desoto division from 1934 to 1936. These rare cars are noted for their unique aerodynamic styling and for their engineering innovations. Airflows were one of the first cars to evolve through extensive use of wind tunnels. The engine stamp SG 1397 is at the front of the 241-1/2ci L-head 6-cylinder engine. There is a 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission and Lockheed 4-wheel hydraulic brake drum brakes. This top-of-the-line series DeSoto Airflow sedan is one of less than 7,000 built for the model year. No expense was spared in the restoration of this highly desired classic from a bygone era.
