Description
Lot #460 - 1960 Ford Thunderbird "Square Bird," fully equipped with every option available at its release. In excellent condition and a national prize winner at the 2013 Antique Automobile Club of America's Southeastern Winter National Meet, plaque number 27703. Other awards include Best of Show at the 1990 Vintage Thunderbird Club International's International Convention, first place in the Senior Class at the 1992 VTCI Regional in Chicago, and first place at the 1995 International Thunderbird Club's meet in Dearborn, MI. Before the car's life in Alabama from 2012-present, records show its previous homes in Galena, KS, and Huntington Beach, CA. Ford had success with the first-generation Thunderbird but redesigned the second generation in 1958 to have four seats after Ford executives believed its two-seat formula to be detrimental to sales performance. This boulevard cruiser comes in rare aqua exterior and leather interior combination, along with the chrome dress-up kit. The 352ci V8 lets you lumber down the avenue in style with the black cloth top either up or down, and the 4-speed automatic emphasizes comfort and class over speed and performance. Contains power windows, power brakes, power steering and Ford's Select Aire air conditioning. One of the smaller and more interesting features on the car is the visored spotlight mirror found on the driver's side door, another one of the many pieces of optional equipment on the vehicle.
