Description
Lot #732 - This is an excellent example of an early 1963 Corvette Convertible "Fuelie." Only 2,610 fuel-injected Corvettes were produced in 1963. This car was originally shipped to Mills Chevrolet in Illinois and in 1965 it was sent to California. It still retains the original-restored California Black Plates with 1965 sticker on the rear plate. In 1999 it was shipped to the Midwest for a complete restoration by well-known Master NCRS Judge Joe Perri. This meticulous body-off restoration was done over the next 10 years with extreme attention to detail and completed in 2009. This car retains mostly original or NOS parts throughout. It's painted in beautiful Daytona Blue and is dressed with a beige top. It sits on correct '63 steel wheels with NOS early frosted hubcaps and Firestone 6.70-15 tires. The dark blue interior compliments the exterior perfectly. The engine compartment is very clean and correct. Its home to the matching-numbers L84 fuel-injected 327/360hp V8. The engine is coupled to the matching-numbers 4-speed transmission and matching-numbers posi-traction rear end with 3.70 gears. The undercarriage is also very clean and correct. Since completion of the restoration it's been awarded Bloomington Gold, NCRS Top Flight and the Corvette Nationals Triple Diamond. The California Black Plates, Mills Chevrolet memorabilia, copies of the awards and a detailed description of all original and NOS parts are included.
