The Ram Air IV was typical of Pontiac engineering expertise, combining stout, reinforced 4-bolt main block, high-lift cam with 1.65:1 rocker arms working in round-port heads, a specially tuned aluminum intake manifold and high-flow cast-iron headers, all topped with that famous Ram Air intake system sealed to twin hood scoops. This example takes full advantage of the Ram Air IV with a 3.90:1 Safe-T-Track limited-slip rear end, the strong driveline complemented with power steering, power front disc brakes and special suspension to make the GTO one of the fastest, most capable-handling cars of its time. Driven just 1,250 miles since a comprehensive frame-off restoration, its gleaming Matador Red paint is matched by an executive-class red bucket seat interior fitted with a center console, Rally gauges with tachometer, AM/FM radio with below dash 8-track tape player and woodgrain 3-spoke sport steering wheel.
