Lot #700 - The restoration was started in the fall of 1983 and completed it in April 1987. The car was completely disassembled, a 351 Cleveland engine was located and the 3-1/2-year project of inspecting, replacing, painting, plating, etc. commenced. To date the car has won over 200 awards, including Best Paint, Best Chrome, Best Interior, Best Engine, Best of Class, Best Modified, Best Street Machine and Best of Show. It has also been featured in over 20 national magazines, including numerous covers. The engine specifications are 351 Cleveland 4-bolt main, bored .030 over, balanced, blueprinted and magnafluxed. The car has a C4 automatic transmission with manual valve body and B&M Mega Shifter. Front suspension is stock with Koni shocks. Rear suspension has Master traction bars and exhaust system. Custom paint and graphics. Hood modified to highlight Weber carburetor stacks. Front valance and chin spoiler are one-piece fabrication. All of the factory seam imperfections were removed. The car spent nine months in the paint shop, where every one of the 24 coats of primer, base coat, colors and clear coats were block-sanded. The car has been lowered one inch. Custom paint blend consists of Ditzler Calypso Coral as the base with Star Pearl candies of Heather, Wild Rose and silver metallic over a white base. The engine compartment is finished in Centari Black enamel. Chrome detail throughout. Complete undercarriage was stripped and repainted. Rear end, transmission, springs and gas tank have been powder-coated with pinstripes.
