Lot #1362 - This 1957 Chevy truck known as "QuikSilver" was extensively customized over a period of five years by Hot Rod Garage in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. It is simply one of the finest custom truck builds of all times and had been recognized around the country as such. Under the hood of this 2014 Barrett-Jackson Cup winner is a 540 big block Chevy engine with an estimated 650hp. The engine is fed by a Crower 8-stack intake converted to electronic fuel injection with FAST XFI and is mated to a Gearstar 4L60E automatic transmission. The exhaust flows through custom one-off headers to a custom 3" exhaust with Stainless Works mufflers. The truck is fitted with one-off 20" and 22" machined wheels with BFGoodrich tires, 4-wheel Baer 6-piston disc brakes (including 15" rotors), custom chassis with Fatman Mustang II front suspension, a machined 4-link rear suspension, Ford 9" rear axle and Bilstein coilovers on both front and back. To attain a modern chassis look, every body panel has been customized or handmade. The firewall was smoothed and reshaped, the hood pancaked and reshaped, the top chopped 3", the cowl filled in and moved forward 3", newly fabricated windshield and back glass opening with custom one-off windshield and back glass. The truck also features a narrowed and reshaped front bumper, custom-made grille with CNC grille bar, hand-built bed, tailgate and roll pan, and one-off taillight bar and full belly pans. Inside the truck, the dash has been reshaped and fitted with a one-off gauge cluster, gauges, steering wheel, and gas and brake pedals. The bench seat, console, door panels and headliner were designed and handmade by Chuck Rowland using 10 hides of smooth and perforated burgundy Mercedes leather. The trunk has been painted a brilliant two-tone Tungsten and QuikSilver color using Sherwin Williams Planet Color paint that complements the burgundy interior. The incredible look, stance, overall fit and finish, superb detail and build quality set this truck apart from all other custom trucks.
