Description
Lot #367 - The 30th Anniversary LT-4 Camaro advertised as having 330hp. SLP, upon delivery to original owner suggested that the horsepower rating was actually at the rear wheels. There was an aftermarket dyno test conducted by Auto Performance Lab that indicated a rumored 380hp at the flywheel, however no one has conducted a follow-up to those numbers until now. On July 14,2015 the current owner took the car to a dyno facility in Grand Junction, CO Allen Johnson Services. That testing gave rear wheel horsepower of 324.6hp (with AC on, standard SAE method) and a final flywheel horsepower of 379.82hp. Just as rumored with the A/C on. SLP told the original owner GM they would not let them advertise the car with more horsepower than the C5 Corvette introduced the same year. That is why the indicated the horsepower at the rear wheels. Additionally GM did not allow them to use the Corvette logo on the revised cold air intake designed by SLP. The car is restricted to a redline of 5700RPM but is capable of much more. Torque numbers were not part of the 2015 SAE test. These cars are amazing to drive since they do not have an air pump in the form of a turbo or supercharger. The throttle response is immediate and torque is amazing. The upgraded lightened drivetrain make the car amazing. The original owner ran a tank of gas every year and exercise all the vents, heater core and A/C functions during the 150-200 mile annual drive.
