Lot #983 - This handsome Packard comes out of a prestigious collection. It has benefitted from an older restoration that has held up nicely over the years. The car is in show quality condition and drives like a dream. Packard's excellence is featured throughout in this wonderful touring car. This is a truly great, classic Packard. Finished in a lovely shade of blue, the car is in wonderful condition throughout. The paint is in beautiful condition overall. The body has been accented by a small white pinstripe around the exterior of the car and the fenders have been outlined as well, giving just a tiny touch of contrast to the paint. The body is stunning and has running boards along the side of the car. Both front and rear bumpers are in very good condition. Inside, the interior has been correctly restored to authentic Packard. Both the front and rear bench seats are beautifully upholstered and show no major signs of wear or tear. The carpet, door panels and kick panels are all in great condition with only very minimal wear, if any showing. The dashboard is finished in a faux wood panel and houses a set of original gauges that look absolutely smashing. This is truly an incredible pre-WWII time piece. Under the hood is the new-for-1937 237cid, L-head inline 6 cylinder that runs extremely smooth. Connected to the 3-speed manual transmission, the car is a joy to drive. The transmission is shifted smoothly through the floor. The engine compartment is clean and nicely detailed. The Packard sits upon a set of 16" color match, painted wheels wrapped in 6.5"x16" wide white walls that look absolutely stunning.
