Description
Lot #905 - The 1991 Syclone is a limited production model of only 2,995 units. The trucks featured a intercooled 4.3 Liter turbocharged V6 rated at 280hp. The engine is mated to a Corvette 700R 4-speed automatic gearbox driving to the all-wheel drive system. A 4-wheel ABS system, limited slip differential, special performance suspension, gas shocks, and stabilizer bars rounded out the special performance package. According to Car & Driver in 1991, the Syclone's 0-60mph sprint time of 4.3 seconds was quicker than any Ferrari or Corvette available. They reported the Syclone victorious over the Ferrari 348TS in that now famous fall race. 113 of the 2,995 Syclone trucks were shipped out of the country as export sales. 31 of those export sales were returned unsold from Saudi Arabia to the GMC facility in Pontiac, Michigan. These were referred to as the "Saudi" Syclones. 30 were sold at lottery to GMC employees and one was used for parts. All 31 VIN's were accounted for and this truck is one of the original 30 remaining. This original truck retains the factory options of power disc brakes with ABS, power steering, air conditioning, tilt steering column, AM/FM cassette stereo, power windows, power door locks, bucket seats, console, and factory tonneau cover. Included in the sale is the Window Sticker, GMC Certificate of Origin, advertising brochure, and a binder of the service and maintenance records.
