Description
Lot #1280 - This beautiful 1964 21-window deluxe micro bus has received a recent high level rotisserie restoration, with only 7 miles since completion. It has been finished in the desirable Ceiling Wax Red and Beige Gray. This is a rare 9 passenger model. Everything mechanical has been completely rebuilt. The engine is a 1688cc with dual carburetors and some period-correct performance upgrades and styling. Mostly all its original and NOS German parts used on the build. All original glass with the exception of the Safaris. Restored original clock, speedo, radio, headlights, tail lights, jail bars, seat grab bars and seat kick panels. Very few aftermarket parts used. Interior completely done to original. Highly detailed under carriage and suspension. Bias ply-look radial tires, Safari windows, and Banjo steering wheel were added. This bus was an extremely nice and solid original bus to begin with and needed very little metal work. It was discovered in 2011 in a climate-controlled building, where it had been stored since 1977. It received a three-year restoration and no expense was spared.
